Hi there, every parent wonders about this should you, allow your baby to suck their thumbs in distress? For me I allowed my baby to suck, her thumb at two months old when she, discovered her fingers, for the very first time as if she had x-ray vision, it was a moment to remember. My daughter didn’t take a binky, pacifier and dummy, so many different types of ways to call it. I recall My daughter didn’t take a pacifier right away, it was after three months that, she decided that she was ready for one. Which was, a sigh of relief for me because her tiny thumb was becoming irritated and red, from her, munching, down on her tiny fingers. The pacifier was very useful, to calm her down when in distress. When my daughter was six months I noticed, something wasn’t quite right with her mouth. While I was cleaning her tongue, to my surprise, the top of her gums was shifting like it was going in a slant, upwards this was a well-made pacifier. Supposedly designed by a dentist providing information on oral health, I googled gum shifting and if dummies can cause harm, it was all there, on my phone. Mothers leave comments, about how it can cause oral, health problems. Because my daughter wasn’t even a year old, I decided to throw away all her pacifiers and prayed her gums would shift back into place. Within 2 weeks I saw progress, Then 3 weeks went by it was, almost normal. It took one more week for her gums to be back in place it was a nightmare. I thought I, wouldn’t wake up from it. After that, we just got teething toys. It was so easy, to just throw away her dummy because, she didn’t get an obsession, with it and didn’t use it in her first phase of life. I hear from other moms about the stressful, stories about pacifier addiction. Children crying and blowups, about their dummies, it’s insane but it does happen. Plus it can ruin their gums and teeth. If you, need to use a pacifier make short use of it and no beads straps attached to it, it could break, and become a choking hazard.
Sucky, suck, thumbsuckers.
