Hi there I want to share with you my views on discipline first Proverbs 13:24 let’s talk about that bible verse, Proverbs 13:24 “Those who spare the rod hate their children, but those who love them…” โThose who spare the rod hate their children, but those who love them are diligent to discipline themโ (Proverbs 13:24). It might be different types of quotes. โso when does this discipline start?โ At age 1 the child understands right from wrong. The child will start to push through limitations, for example, the child will look at you before they do something, they know they’re not supposed to do. My daughter seeks my attention and willingly pushes the boundaries. To see my reaction, and the consequences of my reaction, resulting in my child getting upset or throwing a tantrum. โHow do we solve this problem?โitโs all in your tone. Explain to the young child why he/she shouldnโt do the thing which is wrong for example donโt touch,tv screen or it could fall on you, and you could get hurt. Now if the child persists on doing the action again, tapping on their hand just to get your point across don’t beat the child, instead, move the child from that area. Explain to the child this is the consequence of their actions, and that it’s time for a time-out away from their playtime area. age 2-3 you can start taking their toys away for unaccepted behaviour.
